Welcome to Anchors & Sirens – a lifestyle and fashion odyssey (some might call it a blog) inspired by my passion for the sea (“anchors”), the city (“sirens”), and my belief that everyone can – and should! – live life with style.
I have been fantasizing about this project for years, and I am thrilled that it has finally come to fruition and I can now share it with you. From shopping to style, from design to decorating, from travel to TV, from cocktails to cookies, from beauty to books and beyond, I invite you to join me on this great interactive adventure to celebrate and surrender to all things nautical, New York, fashionable and fabulous.
Speaking of fabulous, I’m wild about beach towns in winter, and that sentiment applies to New York City (it is an island, after all!) – particularly to the historic South Street Seaport (my favorite part of the city). Masts tipped with ice, waves lapping up on docks laced with snow (hopefully soon!), and cozy local pubs nestled on cobblestone streets, their windows steamed up from the warmth inside, glowing from the inside out … all add up to my idea of perfection.
Whether I’m heading there for a casual dinner or to see the gorgeous Christmas tree on Fulton Street, such an outing demands an urban-nautical ensemble. ‘Tis the perfect moment to mix maritime-inspired pieces that boast a downtown edge, such as a Breton-esque striped top and shredded, sailor-style flared jeans.

P.S. We shot this right across the street from my apartment, and if you look closely you can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance!
