BLOCK PARTY

I am smitten with block heels. They may not be for everyone, but there’s something so fresh about the retro vibe and the quirky-clunky look.

After season upon season of skinny stilettos (which I still love and wear), the block silhouette just feels right – plus it is thrillingly comfortable.

And versatile! I have worn the SLITS (pictured) from Stuart Weitzman throughout the fall with midi dresses (like this easy-and-elegant one from Amanda Uprichard, paired with an over-the-shoulder vest and a vintage bag), culottes, cropped trousers, boyfriend jeans, velvet flares, pencil skirts and jumpsuits.

Oh, and sit down for this one, the SLITS is currently on sale for 50% off (shop HERE), so you might have to get both the black and the gorgeous currant suede versions. (Full disclosure — as the Editorial Director at SW, I might be just a little biased)

As I look ahead to spring, a slew of block heel styles are on my wish list, including the SUNLOVER and the GRANDIOSE.

Will you dare to wear the block heel…?
