Many years ago, I was the editor of Vogue’s Index, so targeting trends, scouring the marketplace for unique products and curating tightly edited shopping guides is second nature to me — and something I love to do. Anchors & Sirens has given me the opportunity to do this again and to share my discoveries directly with you via The List (hint: shop right away, because these must-haves sell out fast!). Although I love all things “luxury,” there is a distinct satisfaction in finding amazing goodies at even more amazing prices, so this budget-focused spring style edition of The List was especially fun – and challenging! – to put together. Scroll down to shop and learn more about these ten chic pieces — all under $100.
It’s the season of the Anything-But-Basic White Shirt, and I love that this one combines feminine details with a classic button-front silhouette.
2. Shashi Peyton Cuff Bracelet, $42
Part festival, part Fifth Avenue. Wear this one solo vs. stacked.
3. Topshop Boyfriend Jacket, $85
This slightly oversized version of the classic pairs perfectly with everything from Bohemian-inspired dresses to tailored ankle-crop trousers and a tee. And don’t be afraid to do double denim — mix washes to keep the look modern.
4. Smythson Panama Notebook, $80
My mentor, Art Cooper, the legendary editor of GQ, first introduced me to Smythson almost two decades ago in London. I’ve been hooked ever since. Plus sometimes its nice using a pen instead of a keyboard, and “Make It Happen” is my mantra of the moment.
The contrasting color accent and lush, thick fringe make this tote look significantly more luxe than its price tag. Perfect for both city living and beach loving stylephiles.
I’m forever hunting for the perfect shade of red nail polish. Found it!
I am SUPER excited about these. I designed them on Adidas.com, and what you can’t see here is my monogram on the back of the heel and the light blue soles. There are loads of color options to choose from — for laces, body, stripes, soles, foxing, etc. These customize-your-own kicks are a MUST.
If you’re reading this, you already know that I’m beach-obsessed, plus adding a little Margiela to the maison never hurts. This seaside-inspired candle will allow you to dream about anchors even if you’re listening to sirens.
9. Mar Y Sol straw clutch, $35
All credit for finding this fab little number goes to Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch. I also want it in navy.
10. Topshop Paper-Bag Waist Midi Skirt, $85
The perfectly-placed slit and cinched waist make this midi masterpiece look sexy vs. schoolmarm-y. Wear it with sneakers, t-shirts, sandals, tank tops, wedges, denim jackets, silk shirts…you get the picture.
